We pride ourselves in providing expert advice and excellent service.AdviceAn initial meeting with Jeremy or Steve is free, which equates to about 2 hours of face-to-face time. This can also be conducted via the phone, email or letter. This will enable us to understand your goals, objectives and situation. We will also explain the advice and recommendation process along with details of our experience and background. If you wish to engage our services we will provide the necessary documentation, including Privacy Disclosure and Scope of Service documents, and application forms as appropriate. We will set out what we have discussed in writing. We are members of the Institute of Financial Advisers and we are bound by their strict Code of Conduct and Ethics. Pension TransfersOur fee for arranging standard UK pension transfers is 2% of the transferred funds. This fee is deducted from the transfer amount by the New Zealand pension provider. We do not charge an up-front fee for our advice, and we are always happy to discuss your options with you, so please do not hesitate to contact us for information. If you have a more complicated pension, such as a final salary scheme with partner benefits etc., our initial advice is still free but we may make a charge for an in-depth report giving you details of your options. We will always make sure that you understand any charges that may be incurred before proceeding. We are committed to getting the best result for you, which may in fact not involve transferring your funds. We also receive a small proportion of the ongoing management charge from the New Zealand pension provider. This ranges from 0.2%p.a. to 1%p.a. of the funds under management, depending on the provider used. This enables us to provide you with regular reports and advice on your investments without the need to charge for our time. It is not an additional charge to you as it is included in the Annual Management Fee charged by the pension provider - most pension transfer companies are paid a similar fee, but very few choose to disclose it up-front. Please note that currently in over 90% of pension transfers we have arranged, our proportion of the ongoing management charge falls into the 0.2% p.a. to 0.3% p.a. range. We are in no way swayed towards higher fee paying providers – the provider we choose is totally governed by your needs. InvestmentsAn investment portfolio would usually be set up via Aegis, our administration and custodian system. We charge a one-off implementation fee of 2% and an ongoing fee of 0.95% per annum, which is charged on a monthly basis, which works out to be 0.08% per month. This cost covers advice, reporting, regular reviews, our time, portfolio construction, access to wholesale funds and special deals, independent research, asset optimisation and ongoing monitoring. Other Investments and InsuranceFor non-Aegis investments and insurance we are paid a commission from the product provider, which is disclosed. In most cases the commission paid to us by the product provider does not reduce the amount you invest or the return paid to you for investments, or increase your premiums for insurance – on the contrary, we are often able to negotiate better rates for our clients than if you had approached the product provider direct.
